The Stuttgart German-American Wandering Club 1972 invites you to their 36th International Volksmarch in Stuttgart!
This is a public non-competitive walk for anyone - you will receive credit for the International IVV award.
Dates and times:
Saturday, 30 July 2011 - start times 1100-1500 hours, finish 1800 hours.
Sunday, 31 July 2011 - start times 0700-1300 hours, finish 1700 hours.
Location:
The start and finish is located at the Turnhalle des TSV Heumaden, Kemnater Strasse 50, 70619 Stuttgart-Heumaden.

By public transportation - from the Stuttgart Main Station, take Stadtbahn U7 to Bockelstrasse (footpath to the start/finish is marked).
Trails:
3 trails are offered: 6, 13 and 22 km
The 6 km-trail is flat and stroller-friendly.
The 13 km-trail is mainly flat, but has (shortly before the finish) one steep slope and one long incline.
The 22 km-trail is very hilly and contains 3 steep slopes and 3 long inclines. (Pictures of the 22 km-trail can be seen on this page.) For the 22 km-trail sturdy footwear and good physical condition are highly recommended!
It is up to each walker individually which trail he/she is capable of doing. Start/finish times are listed above. In order to receive your IVV credit, the walk should be done by the stated finish time. The trails are marked with colored tape and directional signs.

Food and beverages:
At the start/finish, there will be a small German-American fest. Food and beverages will be offered at reasonable prices. Snacks, medical assistance and free tea are provided at control points on the trails.
International IVV Award:
The event will be held in accordance with the guidelines of the German and International Federations of Popular Sports (DVV and IVV). Walkers may receive credit stamps for their IVV record books. Start cards are available at € 1.50 (€ 3.80 including medal: boot pin hat feather). The price of the start card includes third party liability and accident insurance on the trails.
